A New Look for LearningSense is Coming on November 1

Hi there,

On Sunday, November 1, LearningSense gets a new look, along with new tools for co-ops, PDO (Parents Day Out) programs and the families in them.

You don't need to do anything to get ready. Your login, families, children, classes, invoices and payment history all stay where they are. Things will just look different the next time you sign in.

Every account opens on a new Today page that shows what needs you first.

For directors

A website for your program, with join requests built in. Your program gets its own public page with your classes, fees and policies. New families fill out a join form (add your own questions), and requests land in Join requests for you to approve, waitlist or decline. Pick a color and add your logo and a cover photo. Find it: Settings > Website, and Join requests under People. Included on every plan.

Also new on every plan:

  • Import families from a spreadsheet or your current system's export

  • Staff records: background checks, CPR, first aid and training, with alerts before anything expires

  • Co-directors: invite up to 5 people to help run your program

  • Words we use: co-op, PDO, micro-school or your own terms

  • Printable name tags and student ID cards

Sprout and up: calendar with RSVPs, volunteer shifts, rooms with double-booking checks, copy last semester forward, email invitations.

Grow and up: assignments, grades and report cards; registration waves; monthly tuition with autopay and invoice review; finance reports with a QuickBooks-ready export.

Thrive: instructional hours reports for micro-schools.

Turn any feature on or off in Settings > Tools.

For families

Today shows your family's day at a glance: today's classes, what's due, and anything that needs you.

Your children's classes each have their own page with the teacher, room, day and time. If your program uses them, you'll also find assignments to turn in, grades, report cards and class materials there.

Also new:

  • Keep allergies, medications, emergency contacts and pickup people up to date, and choose what teachers can see

  • Invite a second parent or guardian to view your family's account

  • Pay by bank account or card, and see what's open and what you've paid

  • Announcements, class threads and direct messages in one inbox

  • Choose whether your family appears in the family directory (it never shows your address, email or phone)
