Read your invoice: monthly tuition, discounts and credits

This article helps you understand what each line and status on your invoice means.
Before you start
- Open Payments in the menu. Each invoice under Open invoices shows its lines, a Subtotal and the amount left to pay. Pay now opens the invoice's full page, where you can Download PDF.
The lines
- Lines are grouped by child. Lines for the whole family, like a credit, sit under General.
- A monthly tuition line names the child, the class and the month, such as October tuition. A line marked (prorated) covers part of a month, for example when your child started mid-month.
- Class fees, supply fees and the semester (or session) fee have their own lines.
- Sibling discount: if your co-op gives a discount for families with more than one child, the lower price is already in the line amount for each child it applies to.
- Standing credit: if your director set a credit for your family (like a volunteer credit or scholarship), it appears as its own line under General, with the name your director gave it and a minus amount. It applies to monthly tuition invoices.
Status words
- Waiting for review: your director is checking it. The total can still change.
- Due: ready to pay. Click Pay now. If the due date passes, Today marks it Past due.
- Scheduled: autopay will charge it on the date shown.
- Clearing: a bank payment is on its way. Bank payments take 3 to 5 business days to clear.
- Paid, Refunded and Void mean what they say.
- Charge failed or Payment returned: the payment didn't go through. Pay again.
What happens next
A credit never takes an invoice below zero. If your credit covers everything, the invoice comes to $0.00 and there is nothing to pay; it still lists the charges and the credit so you can see what happened. You always pay exactly the invoice total, with no added fees.
Common problems
- Don't see your discount? Compare the line with the class price. If it still looks wrong, use the contact line on the invoice to ask your director.
- Your credit isn't on a registration bill? Standing credits only apply to monthly tuition invoices.
- No invoice yet? It appears on Payments before your billing date.
