How your family's and children's data is protected

This article helps you understand who can see your family's and children's information, and the choices you control.

Who sees what

• Your director sees your whole family record, including every health, emergency and pickup detail, so they can run the program safely.
• Your children's teachers see your children's health, emergency and pickup details only where you leave sharing on. All six details start shared; you can hide any of them on the child's card. Teachers also see your name and can message you. Your director decides whether teachers see your email and phone.
• Other families see only what you allow in the directory: your family name and, if you choose, your children's first names. Never your address, email, phone or children's grades. Only you and your director see your address.
• A second parent you invite can see your children's details (including health), schedule, co-op messages, grades, report cards and invoices.

Your choices

1. Teacher sharing: My children → open a child → the Visible to (your child)'s teachers switches.
2. Directory: Settings → Directory listing.
3. Photos: Photo / media consent on each child's card. Teachers see a No photos tag when it is off. Your co-op honors this choice inside the co-op and on its public website.
4. Your data: Settings → Agreements, your data & deleting your account to download a copy or delete your account.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

• Accounts are for adults. Children don't sign in.
• You confirm you are the parent or legal guardian before a child's profile is saved.
• If your director added your children before you joined, they could add only names, grades and birth dates, never health or pickup details. You confirm or remove each child when you join. Children never confirmed are deleted automatically after 180 days.
• You can review, correct or delete your child's information anytime, or write to support@learningsense.org.

What we never do

We never sell your family's or children's information, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train artificial intelligence models. Your co-op's public website never shows a child's name, age, grade, health details or any other record. A photo that shows a child appears there only if your director confirms the family gave photo permission, and it is never captioned with a child's name. To have a photo of your child removed, write to support@learningsense.org; we remove it within 5 business days, sooner where a child is shown.

Common problems

• Worried a teacher sees too much? Turn off sharing for that detail on the child's card.
• Want your child's data removed? Message your director, or write to support@learningsense.org.
