Refunds: how to ask and how long they take

This article helps you ask your co-op for a refund and know when the money comes back.
Before you start
- Your director decides on refunds and issues them. Their refund policy is theirs, not LearningSense's.
- There is no refund button for families. You ask your director.
Steps
- Go to Messages and click New message.
- Pick your director.
- Say which invoice or class the refund is for, and why. For example: "Emily dropped Art on September 12; could we get a refund for October?"
- Wait for your director to reply and issue the refund.
What happens next
- When your director refunds you, we email you to say a refund is on its way and how much. It can be the full amount or part of it.
- The money goes back to the card or bank account you paid with.
- It can take 5 to 10 business days to show up on your account, depending on your bank.
- A full refund shows Refunded on the invoice in Payments.
Common problems
- You removed a class you already paid for, and no money came back? Removing a class doesn't refund automatically. Message your director.
- Your bank payment is still clearing? Ask about a refund once it clears. Bank payments take 3 to 5 business days to clear.
- You paid by cash or check? Your director refunds you outside the app.
- It has been more than 10 business days? Check with your bank first, then reply to the refund email or message your director.
