This article shows you how to invite teachers, assign them to classes, and choose which parent contact details they see.

Before you start

  • You are a director. Have the teacher's email address ready.

Invite a teacher

  1. Go to Teachers & staff and click Invite teacher.
  2. Type their Email.
  3. Pick a class from the list, or leave No class yet, just invite them.
  4. Click Send invite.

Assign a teacher to a class

  1. Go to Classes, open the class, and click Edit class outline.
  2. In the teacher field, pick a teacher, invite someone by email, or type a name only.
  3. Save your changes.

Choose what teachers see

  1. Go to Settings → What teachers see.
  2. Switch Teachers can see parent email (on by default) and Teachers can see parent phone (off by default).
  3. You see Saved. Teachers see this on each student's page.

What happens next

  • The teacher gets an email to set up their account. Until they join, they show under Invites waiting.
  • Teachers see students in their own classes. They always see the parent's name and can message the family in the app.
  • Health details follow each family's choice. Families decide what teachers see in their child's settings, and you can't change that here. You, as director, see everything.
  • Teachers can message directors, other staff, and families with a child in one of their classes.
  • If a teacher can't make a class, they click I can't make it on their class page. You get a direct message in Messages and can reply there.

Common problems

  • Teacher didn't get the email? On Invites waiting, click Resend. Click Cancel to stop the link working.
  • Their link says it has already been used or has expired? Send a new invite.
  • Teacher sees "No classes yet. Your director will add you to your class."? Assign them to a class as shown above.
  • Get started as a teacher
  • Staff records: background checks, CPR and training
  • Data, privacy and COPPA
