Classes, assignments and grades

This article helps you see what is due, turn in your child's work, and read grades and report cards.

Plan: Grow and Thrive.

Before you start

  • Your co-op must use assignments and grades. If Assignments isn't in your menu, your co-op doesn't use them.
  • Your child must be enrolled in the class.

See what is due

  1. Go to Assignments for every child's work in one place, or open Classes and pick a class.
  2. On a class page, use the Assignments, Grades, Materials, Announcements and Discussion tabs. The Overview tab also shows your child's Attendance for days the teacher finished taking it.
  3. Each assignment shows its due date, points and a status: Not turned in, Turned in, Missing or Returned.

Turn in work

  1. On the assignment, click Turn in.
  2. Type an answer, paste a link, add files, or click Take photos on a phone. Several photos go in as one PDF.
  3. Files can be a PDF, a photo (JPG, PNG, HEIC), Word, Excel, PowerPoint or text, up to 25 MB each.
  4. Click Turn in. To fix something later, click Change.

What happens next

  • While the teacher grades, the assignment says the teacher has the work. You don't see the score yet.
  • When the teacher returns it, the status changes to Returned, you see the score and feedback, and we email you.
  • The class's Grades tab lists each returned assignment and its score.
  • Report cards show on My children under Report cards once the director sends them, and we email you. A report card in draft is never shown to you.
  • Grade and report card emails are under Class updates in Settings → Email notifications.

Common problems

  • Work was turned in on paper? The teacher can mark it, and it shows as turned in on paper or in class.
  • Your file won't upload? It may be over 25 MB or a type that isn't allowed. Try a PDF or take photos instead.
  • A grade isn't showing? The teacher hasn't returned it yet.
  • Shows Missing? The due date passed before anything was turned in. You can still click Turn in, or message the teacher from Messages.
  • No Turn in button? A second parent can view work, but only the main parent turns it in.
  • Messages and announcements
  • Register your child for classes
  • Your account: contact info, emails and deleting your account
