Delete your co-op account or cancel a deletion

This article shows you how to delete your program's account, what happens during the 30-day wait, and how to cancel.

Before you start

  • You are the program's owner.
  • Download your data first: Settings → Privacy & data → Download My Data.
  • Deleting closes the whole program. Its families, teachers and co-directors can no longer sign in to it, and its website stops.

Delete your account

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy & data.
  2. Click Delete Account and read what happens. Click Continue.
  3. Type DELETE and click Delete My Account.

Cancel a deletion

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy & data. You see the date your account is scheduled for deletion.
  2. Click Cancel deletion request. Your account stays active.

What happens next

  • You get a confirmation email. Nothing is deleted for 30 days, and you can still export your data during that time.
  • After the 30 days, our team finishes closing the program by hand, including canceling any paid plan.
  • Pending payouts are still sent to your bank on the normal schedule. Any outstanding chargeback liability stays with you after deletion.
  • All of the program's messages and attachments are deleted.

What is kept

  • A deletion log with your account ID, email address and dates. It holds no children's information or messages.
  • Stripe keeps its own payment and payout records as the law requires.
  • Deleted information can stay in encrypted backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.

Common problems

  • Don't see Delete Account? A deletion is already scheduled, so you see Cancel deletion request instead.
  • Only want to stop paying? Cancel your plan under Settings → Subscription instead. You move to Free and keep your data.
  • Want to hand the program to someone else instead? Email support@learningsense.org and we will move it.
  • Asked to type the word again? It must be DELETE in capital letters.
